SEGA Thoughts

michabar@concentric.netMy Saturn is still a favorite to both me and a friend of mine, it has unfortunately always been that the U.S. wants to turn it's back on Sega in general... and with the upcoming SF Vs. Xmen in the U.S. there are new possibilities. All of the SNK games could be brought as well - or at least the newer ones - and what about Cyberbots? At least I don't own it yet. It would be great if Capcom would work on an "exclusive" MEGA VERSION of Resident Evil 2 for the new Sega system... and if Bust a Move 3 is out, why can't I find it?!?!?
I know people who are still buying Saturns, yet I find that stores are already giving up on carrying the games - THIS IS NOT 3DO!!! I seriously believe that magazines should not involve themselves in the destruction of a system... A while back I wanted to find info on DEAD OR ALIVE, I went to some gaming magazine sites - no names - What did I find? They said it was a great game on a dying system - and that they couldn't wait to see it on PSX!!! Other things along with that were said. It upset me that a magazine would discriminate to that extent. I'm sure by now everyone knows that PSX can do a bit more... HOW ABOUT THIS, no magazine goes around saying that about N64!?!?!
Does anyone remember one of the main gripes of the Genesis? "SNES can do better sound and more of it"; Isn't this one of the problems N64 has now??? Saturn can do more FMV and more sound because of a CD. I go into stores, they have Sonic R on the display system right along with the new N64 "swamprace-or-whatever", but both controllers are broken - the sales person doesn't mention Saturn at all, and lies about the N64 - saying it doesn't need a memory cartridge. Saturn offers so much, yet few people believe in it. It has Netlink, "can PSX or N64 offer it?", it has RAM expansion, it has built-in memory storage - it has a great CD player, and a well-balanced (though small) library of games - with easy access to import games.
How much do you want to bet - when the new system comes out that most of the magazines will look at it with great bias based on old fears....It mainly bothers me because the fun is there, but with all the negative things being said - games like Dragonforce II and Sakura Wars will never get to the U.S.
