That Whole Damn VF3 Thing
the Dark Falcon
dfalcon@concentric.netWell, once again, my faith in Sega is put to the test. I've shrugged off the lameless of their 1-800-USA-SEGA number (where you dial up, wait, and then get hung up on after being told you can get quicker service by dialing a 900 line), and I've shrugged off the fact that they do zero commercials nowadays (do you have any idea how cool a Manx TT commercial would've been during the X games?). But this has gone too far, when they don't even pay any attention to their own website.
The situation goes like this...a few days ago, in Sega Speaks (a feature on sega.com where butt kissing is required most of the time), someone asked about VF3 for the Sega Saturn, and a reply was typed back that there were no plans for it at this time, if ever. At that point, only after the reply had been up for awhile, someone in Sega got the controversial comment up to Sega's main offices, and an "immediate" retraction was called, with Sega still saying that interest was shown.
Is it just me, or is Sega slowly but surely starting to tell us something? Yes, I realize the upcoming game line-up for Xmas this year is looking very cool indeed (Last Bronx just begs to be played, if you ask me), but they don't even pay attention to their own damn website! And now this comment's gone and set things off in motion, sending VF fans into utter shock. Of course, we know what'll eventually happen, right, kids? Sega'll come out one day and say, "Well, we thought about it, and we said, 'Hey, this'll be bitchin' on the Dural. So, no Saturn version'." But, for now, they want people to still buy the systems, so it's in limbo.
Really, Sega, give us what we want. Limit it if you must (something tells me you'll have to anyhow), but we bought Fighters Megamix like mad, didn't we? Hell, didn't it even spark up your user base? But please don't brush off your current owners with a 'maybe'. We bought the hardware and sweated it out, we DESERVE it. And the way you're treating us over the phone and on the web, all I can say is if you back out now, think of the downfall.
Now, with that aside, let me get back to my Manx TT and the games- the one thing Sega isn't screwing up on lately.
