Dural is the key to Saturn's software success!
Dr. Cossack
sirenj@iu.netA current rumor is that Dural may be able to run Saturn software. This could be a tremendous asset to Saturn software in North America. Sega of America will probably put most of their resources in 1998 into marketing Dural successfully. If they do so, and if Dural can run Saturn software, then the number of people who can play Saturn games will increase considerably. Companies could then publish Saturn games under the Dural label (perhaps with a "Saturn compatible" logo somewhere on the box) and they would become popular. The reason Saturn software would do better under the Dural label than under the Saturn label is because Saturn has a bad reputation in North America, and it will be easier to convince unsuspecting Dural owners that they should buy Saturn software if they do not know that it is Saturn software. Saturn hardware would become obsolete, but Saturn software would flourish.
Imagine! Konami would begin to port their Japanese titles, Eidos and Shiny would take us seriously again, and we just might be able to get Working Designs back. With the right marketing on Sega of America's part, we would finally get to play might finally get to play Symphony of the Night, Snatchers, Policenauts, Suikoden Plus, Metal Gear Solid, Wild 9, Tomb Raider 2, Sega Ages Phantasy Star, Iron Storm 2, Thunder Force V, Lunar: Eternal Blue Remix, Grandia, Silhouette Mirage, and dozens of other games! With good marketing and the Dural label, Saturn software will thrive in North America! Sega of America should definitely want to do this because it would expand Dural's software library tremendously. Tell them!
