Developed by Altron, Jungle Rhythm is a new game for the Saturn that seems suspiciously similar to Sony's hit game, PaRappa the Rapper. In Jungle Rhythm, the player takes up the roll of Vanilla, a young, hip, fad-conscience girl. Your job is to lead Vanilla through each stage, pressing buttons with correct timing to the music to earn points. The better you do, and the more in tune with the music you are, the more points you get.The game consists of six different stages, with a large amount of movie clips between each stage, telling the story of Vanilla and her adventures. Each stage will have a period of "ad-lib" time, so that the player can make up their own dance style and routine without restrictions. You can even perform "special combo dance moves" by entering different commands. There will be a wide variety of musical styles present, with eleven different tracks in all, featuring music such as Rap, Eurobeat, and Reggae.
In addition to the main game, there will also be a practice mode and a versus battle mode. In Versus Mode, you win points by dancing well, and then you can use those points to somehow "attack" your opponent.
Jungle Rhythm will be released in Japan sometime this December, for around 5800 yen.
