Albert Odyssey Walkthrough - by ???? (sent in by Keith Salmon The game begins by showing how Pike came to be in the Harpy forest. One night Kalminait is attacked and burned by a horde of ogres. They kill all the villagers during the blaze. A man tells his wife that they need to leave now and grabs his enchanted talking sword. In their attempt to escape the parents are killed. The sword in a rage then uses its divine power to destroy the attacking horde and save the child. Moments later, a harpy named Laia is flying through and sees the child next to his slain parents along with a beautiful sword. She takes them both back to her village. It has been ten years since that day and Pike has been raised as Laia's brother. Your true confidant is your sword Cirrus who often gives important advice. Now the adventure begins. Laia asks Pike to find their brother. Take this time to search around the village. The items of interest are the pots lying around. Get in front and search. You will find some mint and most importantly the protect ring which will increase your defense by 5 (a big number early on). You return to your house to find your brother there and you set to eat dinner. At dinner Laia asks Pike to get some water. Pike goes to the well with Cirrus and as he finishes a horde of dragons flies by. One of them lands in front and the rider introduces himself as Belnard. Belnard tries to steal the crystal but Pike intervenes. Then Laia shows up to save Pike. Belnard casts a stone spell on the two, but the power of Cirrus intervenes and saves Pike. Pike awakes the next morning to find that Laia has been turned to stone. The elder decides that since Pike is human he should be the one to go out and find a priest to heal Laia. Pike takes Cirrus and some armor given to him and heads out. Chapter 1 Your first task is to head north to Gigarl. On the way you stop at the destroyed town of Kalminait. You'll find a couple of items here but not much. You meet an old man in the destroyed hollow. You tell him that this used to be your home, and he offers his sympathy. He tells you that he is searching for a special item. He has sensed it's power near, and wants to know if you have found anything recently. This man is an important part of the game. He leaves, but don't worry you'll meet him again. You journey on until you come to the bridge. I suggest that you level build some here before crossing to get used to the game play. Level 4 would be fairly safe here. As you cross you see someone being attacked by two goblins. She runs to you and affectionately refers to you as "sword master". This is Lulu half human, half beastman, and all salesman. You take on the two goblins and should beat them easily. After the battle Lulu offers to sell you items. After shopping she leaves. As you go north you find that you are blocked by a mountain. Go due west from here to the river to find the trail through. The enemies in here are a little tougher but not much. It's still a cake walk. You'll come to a room in the cave where two goblins are holding a fairy prisoner. This battle is the same to save Lulu so don't sweat it. After you defeat them, you release the fairy who talks like a valley girl. She opens the way out for you and you proceed north to Gigarl. Gigarl When you arrive it's the village on the left. Don't worry about the cottage on the right, you'll be there soon enough. Gigarl is a small town so it'll be a quick run through. Find the weapons shop and upgrade your weapon and armor and then save (*strategy tip*). In case your worried, the game doesn't allow you to sell Cirrus. You'll use it again later. You enter the bar and talk to all the barflies. All of them are here to see a great singer who will perform shortly. Then approach the stage and the singing act will begin. After it's over walk out of the bar and you'll meet an old friend or should I say old enemy. You run into Belnard again. Before you're destroyed the singer runs out of the bar in an attempt to save you. You're still outmatched but Lulu shows up to repay her debt to Pike. She throws a smoke bomb and with the quick distraction you are able to hide. Lulu tells you her plan and you wait neat the entrance of the town. As Belnard approaches Lulu uses a huge punch glove to knock Belnard off his dragon. Lulu runs around behind him and uses her bag of tricks to seal Belnard 's powerful magic. With his magic sealed he is a fair fight but not tough. You nearly kill him when a woman riding a dragon shows up to save him. The singer introduces herself as Eka. Lulu tells you that it was all a bluff and she really didn't seal Belnard's magic. She then says that she'll see you again and next time you had better buy lots of items to make up for the ones she used to help you. Lulu leaves and Eka takes Pike back to her cottage (the one on the right before you entered the town). Pike tells her about his quest to save Laia and introduces her to Cirrus. Eka tells Pike that she grew up in a town named Solace where there is a powerful priest named Colas that could heal Laia. Eka joins the party. Solace It's a long journey so save before you go. Travel to the west. On your way you come to the town of Chestoria. This town isn't of any importance yet, but there are plenty of pots to raid. Also upgrade the party's armor and weapons. After your brief visit, go southward to Solace. Once in the town go to the shrine on the north side. As you talk to the people on the way you hear rumors of a ancient vampire name Valerie is reigning terror on the town. When you arrive you find that Colas is dead. You meet his daughter, Leos, who has carried on his talents of healing. She regrets to inform you that she is not powerful enough to break the spell. Then Leos' boyfriend enters. He agrees with Leos that they do not have the power. They show you to a back room of the shrine. In there you see the horror of others that had also been turned to stone. Leos then tells you of a man in the town of Goate that can break the spell named Guy. He is a direct descendant of the legendary hero Albert. Leos arranges for your quarters and leaves you for the night. During the night, Eka comes and awakes you. Something is wrong in the town. You go to the main room of the shrine and talk with the two assistants. They tell you that Valerie has turned many of the people into memnochs (soulless humans ruled by the vampire master) and that they look like ordinary people. You journey outside and find that the town is in a mysterious fog. You fight your way to the southside of the town where you see Leos and her boyfriend. On a rooftop you see Valerie who comes down to tell you to meet him at his castle for the final confrontation. Then Leos' boyfriend meets his x-girlfriend who has become a memnoch. She bites him and he tells all of you to go to Valerie's castle while he battles the memnochs as long as he is able. Leos joins your group and you are instantly at Valerie's castle (reminds you a little of Magus' castle from ChronoTrigger). The castle might seem complex at first but it's not. You want to get all the items before battling Valerie because you won't be able to get back into the castle later. Your levels will start jumping up here and some of the battles will take an annoying amount of HP out (*strategy tip*). The boss is on the top floor so take it floor by floor. First, go through the first floor and then the second. There are three stair cases that lead to the third floor take the north stairs and go left. The first door you'll come to has a recovery spring. Go left again to the stairs leading down. This will take you to a room you may have seen on your way up if you went the west root. Take the item from the chest and return to the third level. Go back to where the door to the recovery spring is and go south and then east. You'll see a save point and stairs leading up. I recommend a level somewhere in or near the mid teens before trying to tackle Valerie. Save and then head up to the 4th floor for the battle with the vampire. Valerie is one of the tougher bosses in the game. You still don't have that much health and he can hit you for up to 100 HP of damage at a time!! (*strategy tip*) After you beat him Leos fears for her boyfriend knowing that he would fight to the end. When you return to Solace you go to the shrine and find that Leos' boyfriend is alright. Leos then decides that she must go with you to find Guy and return Laia and all the villagers back to normal. Upon your exit of the city you encounter an ailing dragonman who has come to find Leos to heal his people from a plague. He dies there in front of you and the party decides to go to the cave. Dragonmen Cave Head south to the bridge and cross it to the west. When you have crossed it go just a little to the south and you'll see the cave. When you arrive you find that all of the dragonmen are dying. Dragonmen are generally immune to everything, and have never faced sickness before. You go and visit the elder and talk to everyone. Leos then senses some evil magic from the well. She discovers that it has been tainted with a evil magic poison spell. She tells the elder and concots an antidote to save all the people. On your way out, a dragonman named Gryzz comes up to Pike and swears his loyalty and sevice to him for saving his sister. After Gryzz joins the group you head outside and see the same woman who saved Belnard in Gigarl. She introduces herself as Rachessa. Rachessa wonders why Gryzz is still alive, and Eka tells her that they saved all the dragonmen from the poison. Enraged by the fact that the dragonmen still live and that Pike almost killed her beloved Belnard she starts a battle with your party. Rachessa is another difficult boss. Her attacks are a little bit more powerful than Valerie's. With the attack power of Gryzz added though this shouldn't be anymore difficult. After you destroy Rachessa (can you see future reprocussions here?) you leave the cave and go north to Goate to seek Guy. Gadel When you first enter the town Eka notices that no one is around. All of a sudden a big muscle bound man with his cronies strut through boasting about how the knights are scared of him. His name is Balan and he possesses the dark sword Madriker. He has scared everyone in the town, including the knights, into hiding. Visit the armory and remember to buy two swords for Gryzz. Then visit the castle. As you search through (it's big) you'll find a few doors the guards won't let you through. Later on you'll be able to enter these. Go to the third floor and enter the door on the left. In there you'll find the legendary descendent of Albert, Lord Guy, along with his comrades Varetta and Aine Blood. They tell you part of the story of what is happening to the people and what is going on locally. Then they depart to see the king. Follow them to the throne room where you'll meet the special mercenary group, the Silver Vixens. The leader Kris is Guy's girlfriend. She doesn't like Pike and his friends too much. After the entire story about Balan, the king reveils the story of Radoria. Then a long debate ensues with the king finally deciding that they must rid themselves of Balan before they can send their troops to fight Radoria. The king upsets Kris by granting Pike and friends a chance to assist with the attack on Balan's fortress. Go south until you see a small passageway in the forest. Go in there and it'll take you to Balan's stronghold. When you arrive, you find that Guy has been distracting Balan by hurling insults about his mother. Pike and friends are directed to attack from the east entrance. Again this castle seems like a maze but isn't that bad. There a three floors and a basement. In the basements are where all the hostages are so don't hesitate to go down there. On the third floor is the boss. When you get close Cirrus tells you that she senses a strong evil magic power and to be careful. There are many good items to find here so search thoroughly and avoid the 3rd floor until you're done. Also, your levels will fly upward again as in some sections you are under a constant barrage of fights with good experience rewards. Before you advance to the third floor make sure that Pike is at full health. When you reach the 3rd floor you find a sealed door. One of the Silver Vixens releases the seal and you all enter. Inside you see a woman who says that she is just an observer of the events that are taking place here. You all walk back outside to find Balan and all of his cronies waiting for you. Just as the Silver Vixens are about to take Balan on. The woman appears again and sends a blast their way rendering them unconscious. Her name is Novia and her chief interest is evaluating Pike. She tells Balan to take on Pike one on one with everything he has (aren't you glad you healed Pike?). Cirrus then uses her power to become a more powerful Holy Sword for Pike to use. This is an easy battle to win. Afterwards Novia takes Balan and disappears. Everyone returns to the Gadel. Upon your return Belnard flies in on his dragon. He is a little upset over your killing Rachessa. He uses his full power and kills Pike. Then Cirrus again protects her master with all the power that she has brings Pike back to life. This though has drained Cirrus almost completely and it'll take some time for her to heal. Belnard realizing that Pike is still alive attempts to kill him again but someone blocks his attempt. The strange old man from Kalminait appears and drives Belnard away. He tells Pike that he senses what he is searching for here, the Holy Sword. He instructs Pike that Cirrus has used the extent of her power and must rest. They will meet again. By the way his name is Estan (ring a bell?). You go to the castle and the king commends Pike for beating Balan 1 on 1 and tells the party that they can have anything in the castle. Guy says that he is starting out to the floating castle near Bugdoniel to prepare an attack on Radoria and that you should meet him there a.s.a.p. Now go back through the castle to all the doors that you couldn't get in before and collect your reward. There's a lot of loot to pick up. Weran & Tuwara Once you're finished head south past Balan's fortress and turn west to cross the bridge. When you've crossed go north into the woods. You are now in the birdmen town of Weran. When you arrive the captain of the army tells you that Tuwara is unwilling to grant a boat because they are preparing for war against the birdmen. As you talk to the villagers you find out that they are preparing for a war against the beastmen in Tuwara. Raid all the pots in the town and go to the highest platform. There a young birdman will descend and greet you. Go north to the town of Tuwara and after speaking to the villagers there you hear basically the same things that you heard in Weran. Go into the elder's house at the north side of town second from the right. When you leave you will see a suspicious looking beastman. The party follows him back to Weran and just before entering he changes into a birdman. Immediately Pike confronts him and he reveals his true form as one of Radoria's wizards. You battle against him in an easy victory. When the battle has concluded both towns make peace but are unwilling to help in the upcoming battle. Disgusted the birdman that you met before quits the army to join your party. His name is Amon. Now you can get boat passage to the continent containing Bugdoniel. The Mountain & Bugdoniel When you leave the ship you must journey north to the mountains to reach the desert town of Bugdoniel. On top of the first mountain that you climb there is a save point (this is a very good time to use it). Go around to the east side to reach the bridge and cross it. When you reach the other side you see a freshly slayed dragon. You hear a noise to the north and approach it. Estan is there battling an outrageous number of dragon riding henchman. Guess who is leading this massive force but your old pal Belnard. Seeing Pike there and knowing that there is now other way, Estan sacrifices himself thereby destroying the entire army except Belnard. Before his death he asks you to make sure his end is not in vane. Now you fight Belnard for the last time. This is a difficult battle, make sure that you keep everyone's health up and using a magic shield may be a good idea. Once you've defeated him Belnard tells you that you have no chance against Radoria. Pike and party go southwest to exit the mountain. Now travel in a SSW direction to the dead center of the desert. Their you will find Bugdoniel. When arriving you see the general and he tells you that Guy is waiting for you in the tent. Go to the tent and the planning of the attack begins. You are informed that currently no one can enter the castle because of it's protective shield. However, before it can take off it must lower the shield. This will be the moment that the attack will begin. Guy gives you 700 gold to spend as you wish and tells you to rest before the ensuing battle. Go and buy any items or weapons that you need (*strategy tip*). That night when you stay at the inn, Leos brakes out with a horrible fever. Fortunately, your favorite salesman, Lulu, appears. She offers to give you the cure for all the party's money. After Leos is healed go see Guy and leave for the castle. The Castle of Radoria The castle is northwest of Bugdoniel. As soon as the shield drops everyone tries to get inside but many fail and fall to their doom including Pike. Before he hits the ground Amon swoops down to save him and take him to the castle. Once inside Guy, Varetta, and Ceramis take care of the first three dragons with some impressive power. You then follow them inside where you are attacked by a fourth. This isn't the easiest of battles but it can be won without much damage. Work your way ahead to a royal type room with two staircases and four doors. The door directly ahead contains a recovery fountain and a save point. Go to the left and up multiple staircases to find a flashing red button switch. Press it. Return to the main room and use the right side. Work your way to the other red switch and now the door on top of the stair case should be unlocked. When you enter there you can go left or right. Go right first. Again there is another locked door but you don't need to go south very far to find the button to unlock it (how about right there). Inside is a valuable item. Now go back and take the left route. Go into each door as you pass it for this floor and the next. Each contains a weapon or valuable item. When you reach the save point and a recovery fountain on the south end, make sure that you have found everything and get ready for the final battle. Go up the stairs to Radoria's chamber. When you arrive you find that everyone is imprisoned in crystals (a la Dragon Force). As you are about to confront Radoria, Estan shows up and after some talking Radoria destroys Estan. Then Cirrus awakes and reveals her true identity to her brother. She then tells him that she will no longer allow him to live and destroy others. Cirrus then takes her ultimate form and goes to Pike for him to wield. Radoria is extremely difficult. He has attacks that can take out up to 300 HP. His main spells are Quickster and Lightining. Near the end of the battle he unleashes group attacks that will take out 200+ HP per member. Once the battle is finished, Cirrus changes back to her human form and tells Pike that they will meet again someday just before fading away. Varetta transports everyone away and you get to watch a cool scene of the floating castle crashing. Everyone goes back to their homes, and Eka and Pike stay together in the Harpy Forest. Everything is just normal average life until one day years later............ Chapter 2 Pike, Eka, and Laia are living normally in the forest when just before dinner they hear a door knock. Pike answers it and in comes a hyper young girl named Kia. Kia immediately tries to drag Pike off somewhere but won't say where. Then Amon and Gryzz walk in and also tell Pike and Eka that they need to come with them. Gryzz has Kia explain the situation. Kia tells Pike and Eka that she is Varetta's granddaughter and that Varetta is missing. She finishes up by telling them they need to go see the King of Gadel. Kia teleports the party to Gadel. Return to Gadel You are instantly telported to the throne room. The King explains that Guy, Varetta, and Ceramis all disappeared. They were following up on the rumor that Balan has returned from the dead and is more powerful than before. There last known whereabouts was in the town of Agnus. No one in the party is sure where that is until Kia says that is her home town. Kia then teleports you to Agnus. Agnus When you arrive you go to the north side to the shrine. There you meet brother Mylar. He is a Sunday preacher clone but tells you that Guy and company were heading towards the Graveyard of Ages that is north of Mycent. You leave the town and walk southeast to Sitonus (*strategy tip*). Sitonus When you get to Sitonus talk to the villagers and you'll find out that a ghost ship is preventing them from going out to sea (*strategy tip*). Go to the house on the northeast corner and meet the captain. After some coaxing and a deal vastly in his favor he grants you passage out to sea. Ghost Ship After sailing for a few minutes the captain sees the ghost ship. As part of the deal Pike and company board the ship and find the treasure. When they reboard the captains vessel they are attacked by a giant sea urchin. This is what I have considered the toughest battle in the game. The enemy's single person attack hits for about 400 to 450 HP, and it's Acid Wave party attack takes out 200 HP per member. If you have a Magic Shield item available this is a good time to use it. When the battle is finished you arrive on the continents coastline. Walk northeast to reach Mycent. Mycent When you arrive at Mycent you look around the manufacturing town and see that they are at work on a top secret project. The party goes to the northwest corner and enters the house there to meet the Duke. The Duke tells you that he is working on a flying machine (important later on). When you leave you see his daughter run out and head north for the ruins near the Graveyard of Ages. As you talk to the people of the town you hear rumors of some strange people entering the Graveyard. Leave the town and go north. When you come to the forest maze take the path on the right. This will lead you to the graveyard. Graveyard of Ages This is another maze that really isn't that complicated. There are two main rooms and secret items to find. The only thing worth searching for is the save point in the second room. When you arrive and enter the first one there is dead end to the left. Go east and then north. You will see a lot of different passageways. Don't worry they all lead to the same place. Pick any path (the left one is the quickest) and venture to the northwest corner of the room which connects to the second one. When you get to the second room go a few steps south and then due west. This will lead you to the save point. Go back to where you started from and go north. Again you come to alot of choices but all of them once again are interconnected and lead to the same place. Follow any one of them north until you reach a bridge with a door on the other side. When you go inside you see Varetta. She is in some sort of trance and is oblivious to your presence. Next, Novia appears with her comrades Aine Blood and Krishna. Novia wonders why she doesn't sense the same power from Pike that she felt before. They have defeated the guardian and stolen the holy vessel which can bring back the dead. They take off and leave you with Varetta and the Guardian. What's left of the Guardian attacks you. This is a fairly tough battle but not nearly as hard as the Giant Sea Urchin. The guardian uses the Binding spell which will freeze everyone except Gryzz. There are two ways to defeat the Guardian, either use Banshee Tears to unfreeze Kia first (she has the Binding spell which will unfreeze) or just constantly attack with Gryzz using Healing Breath whenever necessary. Once you have defeated the guardian you take Varetta back to Gadel. Gadel...again Varetta explains to everyone what Novia is up to. She has stolen the Holy Vessel to create an army to take over the world. She thinks that Novia is the ancient priestess of the magical land of Fargasta. She doesn't remember what has happened to Guy or Ceramis. The King tells you that you must go to Fargasta to battle Novia, but in order to do that you need the flying machine. Kia teleports you back to Mycent to get the flying machine. Return to Mycent Go and see the Duke and he tells you that he can't work on the machine anymore because his daughter is missing. All the villagers tell you is that she was heading north towards the Graveyard of Ages. Leave the town and go back to where the Graveyard is but don't go inside. Instead go north through the opening in the forest and turn east along the coastline. You won't be able to see it but if you walk around you will stumble into the ancient ruins and find the Duke's daughter. Go to the top of the ruins and find the Iron Golem there. Strangely, the girl runs and hides behind the Golem when you tell her that you are here to rescue her. You battle the Golem who won't hit anyone in your party. The battle stops and she explains that the Golem has been her friend and won't hurt anyone. Pike and Eka explain that her father is worried sick but she refuses to go back and see him. Then for some unexplained reason the Golem attacks you again. This is an easy win. Afterwards, Kia hears the Golem's voice and tells everyone that he sacrificed himself so that the girl would return to her father. You then take her back to Mycent. After the Duke says that he'll resume work you walk to the factory where the flying machine is being built. When you enter you see Guy there along with the flying machine destroyed. Guy is also in a trance. Suddenly, Krishna appears and turns Guy into a dog. She then flirts heavily with Pike. Eka steps in to cover her territory and Krishna turns Eka into a pig. After Krishna leaves, Kia warps everyone to Gadel again. Gadel.....one more time Varetta changes Eka back into a human. After this the King tells you that Novia has threatened to invade Gadel soon. He asks you to check on the kingdoms of Chestoria and Agnus to make sure that they're alright. Varetta leaves for Mycent to help the repair efforts to the flying machine. Your party then leaves for Chestoria. Chestoria You go to see the Queen and find another Gryzz there. The Queen says that you're Gryzz is the imposter and that her's saved the kingdom from Novia's forces. The Queen summons Emma, the fortune teller, to tell which one is the real one. Emma picks the Queens Gryzz but after much protest by Eka the Queen decides to imprision both Gryzzs. She sends the party to their quarters. In the middle of the night Amon, Kia, and Eka wake up Pike to search for proof that their Gryzz is the right one. Go to the circus on the east side of town. When you go in there take a peek in the back left corner room at some strange dolls. Then go to the room on the opposite side and find a letter concerning the fake Gryzz. Take the letter to the Queen. She calls in the leader of the circus to explain himself. In his desperation he kidnaps the Queen, and takes her to the circus tent. When in there, the Queen reveals her true form as the mimicing clown, Pierre. Pierre tells the circus man that he has screwed up Krishna's plans with the fake Gryzz, and that Krishna was posing as Emma. Krishna then appears, and welcomes Pike (who she lusts over again) and party to the show. Gryzz then shows up from the rafters and joins you. Pierre runs away while the circus man attacks you. After the battle starts the fake Gryzz shows up in the battle. This battle is pretty easy, but I suggest concentrating your firepower on the fake Gryzz first. After you win something strange happens to the circus man and he turns into a pig. Krishna tells you that he was actually a pig to begin with that she changed into a human for her plan. She then tells you that she should have gone with her first instinct and used a cow instead. She leaves with her usual laugh. Then your party goes to Agnus. Return to Agnus When you arrive at Agnus you find that you are too late. Novia's forces have destroyed everything and killed everyone except Brother Mylar. Eka saves him with a healing spell and they all transport to Mycent to get him some help. Mycent & the Flying Machine Find Varetta and she'll tend to Brother Mylar. Then save and go to the factory. Talk to everyone there (very useful info) and then Varetta shows up. She tells you what she named the ship (I forgot what it was). You then board the flying machine (which looks like a giant fish and kind of ridiculous) and leave for the land of Fargasta and the four towers. As you fly over Fargasta you are repelled by a force field. In order to enter Pike's party must disable the four generators, one in each tower. Southern Tower This tower is straight foward with no tricks in the layout. You'll find items in boxes on the first three floors. On the fourth floor is Balam. He has been waiting for Pike and the battle to begin. This battle is moderately difficult. Staying in good shape isn't a huge problem. Balam's regular attack hits for 700 HP but the troubling one is his Grand Swing which hits the party for 300-400 HP a piece. I don't know how much HP Balam has but it's an incredible amount. This will be the longest battle that you have (took me almost 20 minutes). After Pike's party wins, Kia speaks to Balam to reach out to his human side. Just before his death Balam repents and the dark sword Madriker disappears. Kia then switches of the first of the four force field generators. Eastern Tower Again this is a straight foward layout. Find all the boxes and take the items. Go to the 4th floor to battle Aine Blood. Aine's magic attacks are very powerful so make sure you keep everyone healed. His group spells hit for 800 HP per member!! This is also a long battle (I had three pieces of pizza during the battle). The best way to inflict damage is through physical attacks. When you win, Aine can't believe that he lost and the party throws a few parting shots before his death. Western Tower This is the first real maze in the game. You are greeted by Pierre at the door who tells you that Krishna is waiting upstairs and that not all the doors are one way. Find all the items on the floor, but beware of mimic boxes, and then use the door just to the right of the entrance. When you go in you'll be in a dead-end room. Go back out the door and your in a room with two exits. Go to the north one and it'll take you to the stairs to the 2nd floor. The second floor seems complicated but it's a simple trick. Go to the door on the right (right next to the mimic box...heh..heh...heh) and go into the room. Raid the coffin for an item and then go to the right side. The door is at the bottom and mirrors the spot of the door that you came in. Once you've gone through just go south to the stairs while raiding the remaining items. The third floor gives the illusion that you're missing rooms. Don't worry your not. Each door takes you to a different part of the room and when you keep seeing other parts of the room next to the walls you think that there is something you missed. Just go straight through four doors to reach the stairs and open the box on the way. When you reach the 4th, Krishna hits on Pike again. Pierre backs off and the fight begins. Krishna will seem very easy compared to Balam and Aine. She does have a party damaging Vortex spell (about 700 HP) which she uses near the end of the fight. When Pike's party wins Pierre is transformed back into Ceramis. Ceramis then proceeds to have a nervous breakdown before running out of the tower. Northern Tower The trick to getting through this tower quickly is don't use any of the doors. With the exception of the ones on the 5th floor they all take you backwards. The ones on the fifth take to the boss before you're ready. Only use the stairs and pick up the boxes on your way to the boss. When you arrive on the 6th floor you see Guy there. He is the keeper of the North Tower and is still under Novia's control. He has enough strength left to tell you to destroy him and make sure that Pike's bloodline continues. He also explains about his sword Karma Blade that was used by his legendary descendent Albert. The battle begins. Initially this is a very easy battle, but near the end Guy uses the Karma Blade spell which gives him incredible single attacks that take out 1200-1300 HP (and that's with a Magic Shield on). When you defeat Guy he sends the power of the Karma Blade to Pike. Then, the Silver Vixens show up. Kris tells Guy that he isn't allowed to die because she won't allow their child to grow up without a father. They take Guy to Leos in Solace. Kia deactivates the last generator and the forcefield is now gone. Fargasta When you arrive on the top of the tower your airship is instantly destroyed. Novia shows up with an army of underlings. Just before you're finished reinforcements arrive from Gadel led by Chad. Novia flees into the basement of Fargasta. Also the Silver Vixens have come to send you off as well as your favorite saleswoman Lulu. She has everything that you could possibly need to sell to you. Spend all your money here because you won't need it anymore. The party walks down the stairs to a transporter which takes them to the 8th floor. This is where the fun begins. I haven't played through a part of an RPG that is such a maze in a long time (and maybe never one this complex). It is very easy to get lost. It took me a total of 2 1/2 hours to finally find the basement. One of my detours on the second floor even took me back to the Graveyard of Ages. Even though wandering through Fargasta can be frustrating and very time consuming it isn't necessarily a bad thing. You will be able to level build quite a bit and there an enormus amount of items (mainly Magic Tomatoes, Power Potatoes, and Miracle Mangos) to be found. But if you want the quick route here we go. You start on the 8th floor. Explore everyroom. Most have pots and bookshelves to search through. Don't bother talking to the people they all attack you. But it your levels are low fighting them is a good idea. When you talk to them you only fight one blastermaster which is prettty easy but worth about 500 experience points (I don't remember exactly). On the north side of the floor is a room with a save point. On the south side is the elevator. Once, you have raided the level, take the elevator to the 7th floor. This floor is a pain. There are about 30 warp tiles that take you to different ones. The quick way through this is walk north then when you see the first warp tile go west and south to the other one. You will then be in a small room with three of them. Step into the middle one and you go south to an identical room. Step on the one on the left. This takes you to an area with only the returning save point and a room at the end. Go into the room and use the transporter which will take you to the 6th floor. It is important to know that there is more than one way to reach the first set of three transport tiles. One of the routes you can take will have a U-shaped area with transport tiles at the top of each end of the U and one at the bottom. On the southeast side of this area you'll find a room that has four pots each will valuable items. The transport tile in the northeast part of the U will take you to the first set of three transport tiles. When you get to the 6th go outside the room and go north. Take the first left turn and you'll immediately see a room. When you enter the party members all look confused. Suddenly, the floor opens up and they find themselves on the 5th floor. On the 5th there are a few rooms to explore but do not take any of the transports. Go to the southeast until you reach another elevator. When you get to it you can only go down. Descend to the 4th floor and get out. On this part of the 4th floor there is a long chair-form area. At the first turn you will see a room this is a save point. Keep going until you reach a room at the end. In there is a crystal. Touch it and it will act as a recovery spring. Then go back to the save point and save. After you have saved return to the elevator and go to the 3rd floor. On this floor there isn't much to see. Find the room with transporter and take it back to the 4th floor. Step outside the door and walk a short distance. You'll a transport tile very close by. Use this to go to the 2nd floor. Go ahead and explore this floor for items. Be careful not to use any of the transporters (unless you're feeling like an explorer). This is the floor that contains the transporter to the middle part of the first room of Graveyard of Ages. When you've finished jump on the elevator at the south end (which can only go between the 2nd and 4th floors) and take it to the 3rd floor. Search this floor for items. Again beware all transporters, especially the tile on the right just after you enter the level. This transporter sends you everywhere except where you need to be and after much aggrevation will eventually return to the east end of the 8th floor. Now knowing this, return to the elevator and go up to the 4th floor. There is only one room on this part of the 4th floor. Go to it and take the transporter to the 7th floor. On the 7th floor go to the first room you come to and use the transporter to take you to the 1st level. The 1st floor is in the shape of a spiral (one direction only.....whew!!) with the starting point at the center. There is a save point at the top of the room and the elevator is at the south end. This is the last save point in the game (hint hint....use it). Go into the elevator and descend to the basement (B1). Disembark the elevator and go north. At this point I was at level 65. You should be around 55-60 before taking the end battle on. Make sure that your ready for battle before you enter the hole in the wall on the north side. When you enter you see Novia in the center of a pentogram surrounded by three capsules. The one on the left contains Estan, the right one Cirrus, and the center has Madriker. Novia reveals her last name as Ozabul. She is the last of the line of the evil family that Albert and Sophia tried to destroy centuries ago. She survived the battle then and has waited all this time to revive the Immortal Queen. After some pre-battle taunts the tri-battle begins. The Final Battle For all three of these battles Magic Shields are a must. Also have some MP replenishing item ready for Kia. First you fight Novia. With Pike getting in tons of big hits using the Karma Blade spell, she isn't very tough at all. She does about 800 HP worth of damage with one of her spells but at this point you can almost heal that with Gryzz's Healing Breath. This battle will be quickly ended within 3 minutes. Novia though isn't finished. Using her remianing power along with then ensnared Estan, Cirrus, and Madriker she summons the Immortal Queen. Again this battle is not that difficult, but it is noticibly tougher than Novia. One of the attacks (single member) will take out 1200 HP. This is mainly a problem for Kia so watch her carefully. Again with Pike using the Karma Blade spell this should be an easy win. Then Cirrus escapes from the Immortal Queen and comes to Pike. She uses all of her power to transform into her most powerful form yet. Just before you can destroy the Immortal Queen she tosses the party into the void. Then she summons the power of Madriker and restores the dark dragon Vlag. Vlag is very difficult. Get in all the big hits you can at the begining because he starts with the weaker party damaging spells and works his way up to Starduster. He has an attack similar to the Immortal Queen taking out 1200 HP but still everything is okay until he uses StarDuster. When he uses Starduster it takes out from 900 HP (Kia) to 1300 HP (Gryzz). Not to mention that Vlag is pretty quick. You will need to use the majority of your members to heal because Eka and Gryzz won't be able to keep up with the number of attacks that Vlag throws at you. Fortunately, this is not a long battle either, otherwise you'd be toast. Epilogue (spoiler!!!! don't read if you're planning on playing this game) When the Queen and Vlag are defeated Estan disappears. Before Cirrus can leave she asks Pike to use her to break Madriker and destroy Vlag forever. Pike breaks the sword using Cirrus and Madriker vanishes into nothingness. Cirrus tells Pike that world will finally be at peace and she can now rest. She then tells Pike that he is now the greatest of all heroes and then Cirrus disappears forever. Finally, after a millenia the Legend of Eldean has concluded.
