Sakura Taisen was by far one of the most popular games released for the Sega Saturn back in 1996 in Japan. While the Saturn seems to be on the way down in Japan right now, it will be very interesting to see if the sequel to Sakura Taisen, Sakura Taisen 2, sees success or experiences the same lackluster sales of other big-named Saturn titles like Azel, Grandia and Burning Rangers.
