The popular arcade game comes home. If you are getting tired of Virtual Cop and you really liked the Lethal Enforcer series, then Area 51 is for you. Be forewarned the game is sweet but is also very short.

Graphics: 9 As far as shooters go this is the most realistic looking one for the Saturn that I have seen. The game is nearly arcade perfect with only a minor loading slowdown here and there. The frame rate is smooth as silk. The aliens, although there are very few different ones, they do look good.

Control: 9 The frame rate is great, thus. The gun works great and if you don't want to spring for a gun the controller also works well. One thing I do like is that after your arm gets sore from holding up the gun you can pause the game and put the controller in without having to start over.

Sound: 8 Arcade perfect. But then again the arcade sound wasn't that great to begin with. All the screams and gun shot sounds are here, and the sound goes good with the game. But the sound won't be looked back at as revolutionary.

Lastability: 4 This is where the game hurts. If You went straight through without dying the game would last about 30 to 45 minutes. Not Cool. There are hidden rooms, but they don't really add anything to the game. There is a Krono mode, but all it is, is the same game with a different intro and ending.

Fun Factor: 7 It's a not stop shooter, only if it for less than an hour, the intro and ending are lame. But I Still think this game is fun. When you start the game you will be in it until the end. It never gets dull and the action is constant.

OVERALL: 7.4 This game is short and it has a lousy intro and ending. But it is a blast. If you loved the Arcade version as I did then buy this game. If you like shooters then rent it. You will probably finish it in one rental. And if you don't like shooters then this game won't be for you.
