Baku Baku

Review by: Videogod

So you loved Tetris on the NES and Columns on the Genesis, but you haven't played a good puzzle game since. Well then beware Baku Baku is here and for the third time ever a truly great puzzle game has arrived.

Graphics: 8 The story is cute, (that's right a puzzler with a story line) and the game is colorful. Also there is a little character in the center of the screen that represents your enemy. He will jump for joy when winning and sweat it out when losing. Although, this game is a puzzler so it isn't exactly taxing the Saturn system. But that's ok because graphics don't make for a good puzzle game.

Control: 8 All right so it's a puzzler so it doesn't require much for control but the games response is precise.

Sound: 8 The music is cute and the chomping sound when a animal eats the food is hilarious. Also the music seems to pick up the pace as the action intensifies witch only adds more to the game.

Lastability: 9 One player mode having a story line gives the game the one player replay value, although the computer AI isn't real good. But the two player mode will cause many friendships to break up after you spend hours swearing at each other.

Fun Factor: 10 It doesn't get much better than this. The two player mode is a blast. That's right a fun two player game that isn't a racer or fighter. Just for that reason it deserves a ten. Also the competitiveness and chain reactions are blast.

Overall: 8.6
If you ever even remotely liked Tetris or Columns you should buy this game. I bought it expecting the game to be ok, but soon found out it is one of the Saturn's best games. Thanks to Sega's value pricing this game can be found for around thirty five dollars and it is well worth the money. For the most fun call a friend over for some great 2 player action.
