Bug Too!
What can I say about Bug Too? Well its a platform game, but a very well done platform game. I'm going to start with the graphics. Sega has done a very god job of making this platform game with the feel of 3-D. While 3-D doesn't make a game it surely has a big part in the way people judge games today . The animation in Bug Too is hilarious. first you have Bug, I mean who couldn't love this guy? Then you have Maggot Dog and that is exactly what he is, a dog's head attached to the body of a maggot. Then last but not least you have Super Fly this guy has to be my favorite. This is a bug with a very large afro and platform shoes! His remarks during the game will have you laughing the first five minutes after choosing this character. Okay enough about graphics lets move on to game play. As far as I look at it graphics don't matter near as much as game play. That is where I start my second part of the review. I have been stuck on this game for days and the difficulty on a scale of 1 to 10 would have to be a 10 . The game controls fairly well and learning how to control the three characters is a breeze. Although I did find it kind of difficult to judge the jumps when jumping away from the screen and back towards the screen again leaving you in a pit of fire or eaten by swamp monsters. And the bad thing about it, in most cases you have to start all the way back at the beginning of the level which can get very annoying. And the amount of lives and power ups is very very out numbered by bugs, falling rocks, tricky jumps, and a number of other different obstacles.
But overall Bug 2
is a very fun game and should keep even the most avid video
game player busy for weeks. I have to admit I was never
a big fan of Bug 1 simply because of its repetitive levels,
this version however has definitely been added to my
collection. The sound is the next thing I would like to
focus on. For a game like Bug 2 which doesn't really have to
rely on sound as much as game play I was very impressed,
from the character's wise cracks, to the flaming torches on
the wall,to the zombies on the Weevil Dead 2 stage.(which
is very hilarious I might add.) The sound packs a good
punch in this title.
GRAPHICS - 7 Last thought... if you've played crash bandicoot for PSX you have a pretty good idea of what this titles like. Except Bug Too looks better, sounds better, and plays a little better . If your not into this kind of game it still makes a very hot rental!
