Crimewave

Review by: Chris Petrello

I have to disagree with alpha-uno...Crimewave is a severe disappointment...

after viewing the screenshots and the review by alpha uno i went out and bought Crimewave, and seeing since the game was by EIDOS (makers of tombraider) i figured it would live up to my expectations...damn i was wrong...

Crimewave looks like spy-hunter...just with curved roads...

to get a feel for playing crimewave, play a sports game with various camera angles and choose the blimp option...straight down... or, imagine sim-city blown-up with larger roads...

this game looks ok, and it plays ok, but it is not a great game...its flat, hard to see what's coming up on the screen, this game would have been many times greater if it offered the "behind-the-car" perspective of Daytona or Sega Rally, or the "in-the-car" perspective for that matter, i mean, just imagine a game that is as visually pleasing as Sega Rally, but you could explore the enviroment and shoot enemies...hmmm good idea...

well anyway, to say the least i was very angry at myself for buying this game, the total came to $63 at Electronics Boutique...I also bought the Incredible Hulk Game, which i am turning into my part 2 of these reviews, go check it out...

so the final take on this is: DON'T BUY IT, unless you see it really cheap or you can afford to low $63 dollars out the window, but go rent it, but while you're there ask if you can only rent it for an hour...b/c frankly folks that's all this game deserves...
