Croc: Legend of the Gobbos
Croc is one of the cutest games I've ever played! I know that little kids will love this game, but older players shouldn't be turned off by the cute graphics. Lets break it down: Graphics get a 9. The graphics are really good. But still not as great as Nights or Sonic R. The colors are great. I've only made it through the first two worlds (Lava and Ice) and it's pretty impressive. Croc looks sooo cute, especially when he runs : ) There isn't much background detail like in Nights or Sonic R, because u usually just get a brown mountain side or clouds or water as the backdrop. Music gets a 10! This is definitely my favorite part of the game! All the songs go perfectly with the cute graphics. It is some of the best music I've heard in a videogame. There are over 30 songs, but some of them are just different arrangements of the same song. And you can listen to the songs on your cd player. Unfortunately, the songs only last about 1 minute! In the actual game, it isn't a big deal. But when u want to listen to just the soundtrack on your cd player, this isn't so hot : ( The sound effects are really good too. Croc's little sounds are so cute! Like when he says 'yup' when he climbs up a rock or platform. Control gets a 7. There are just soooo many jumps in this game that sometimes it drives me crazy. I've fallen and fallen so many times that I think that it can't be me, it has to be the control in the game, heh heh. Except for the jumping, everything else is just fine. Difficulty would be normal. This game lets u save ur position after every area. For example, the first area for a level might be like 4 small rooms. Even though the game's graphics might attract a young audience, this game can get tough! One needs to keep their cool when they're jumping. And another thing that makes this game a bit hard would have to be the games only fault: the camera angle! This is pretty bad : ( I really hate it. Even though you can use the x, y and z buttons to adjust the height and sometimes the angle, it doesn't always work. There is a section in world 2 (Ice) and there is a door that one has to get to. But you can barely see it because the camera angle keeps it kind of hidden. After i went in circles for awhile, i finally got there. But i thought to myself, how on earth are young kids ever going to pass this section? Overall i give this game a 9 : ) It is really good, even with the camera angle glitch. If u like these type of games, then definitely get it! That's why i got it : )
