Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

Review by: Peter Loeb

Okay, the story of the game is pretty simplistic. But we get it a lot in the video game community. Croc must save his friends the Gobbos from Baron Dante. (see the resemblance). On with the review.

Graphics. 9.5

The Graphics are really good for this game. But it sports nothing like Nights. The colors are bright and the characters are animated nicely. My only problem is that the levels look all the same, and there are just a few enemies that look different.

Sound. 10

The sound is perfecto. The music is really catchy and it's nice to see variations of the stage select song in each island. The only problem with the music is that it is lacking variation. I also enjoyed the battle cries of Croc, his enemies, and even the Gobbos.

Control. 7.5

Okay, the game handles really good. All of Croc's moves are easy and simple. But the control is not perfect. My first problem was the fact that Croc has substantial problems with seeing things, the programmers gave absolutely no way of seeing oncoming platforms. The second gripe is that jumping to platforms is a chore. In the I snow him so well, getting to certain platforms requires the player to push forward if you don't than you'll fall, push too hard Croc walks off.

Overall. 9.5

Croc is a solid game, everyone will like it. As one of the few great games of this year. This one will have you playing for a long time.
