Crusader: No Remorse

Review by: Ozzi

About year ago, I bought PC version of Crusader: No Remorse. I Played it very much, I didnīt sleep much. Now I have get in my hands Saturn conversion, and now I gonna rewiev it.

Crusaderīs idea is simple. You control crusader in red costume and you have to shoot your enemies to go next stage. Of course there is a lot of weapons to choose from, and many different enemies to kill. Normal enemy is human, a some kind soldier who trying to shoot you. They donīt really are very dangerous to your health, but if there are many of them then they can be problem. In later levels those soldier have bigger and better guns of course...

Control: 8.0
Control feels at start very bad, and you may think that crusader wonīt move at all, but its important that itīs easy to learn. In 15 minutes you control crusader well. Actually control is better in Saturn version than PC version, so there isnīt reason to worry about it.

Graphics: 8.5
Graphics arenīt so great than in PC version. Itīs VGA and little confused, but not bad. Screen follows smoothly crusader movement, and thats important. Explosions, bullets, soldiers, robots, everything looks great. Bodies lay on ground with different positions, and lay in their own blood.

Violence: 9
Violence are very important part of this game. Blood flies in air when you shoot, and if you shoot soldier with bazooka, it run all over burning and screaming. "Why you play game like that" say mom, but I donīt care. Game is for ages 15+ so now you know who can buy it. I have to accept that violence is important part of this game, and there shouldnīt be any censorship in it.

Sound & Music: 9
Sound effects are excellent. Especially explosions, and screams. If you have Dolby Surround systems in home, this game supports it too. Music is good too, and it can be changed automatically when you play. You donīt have to listen same track over and over again...

Lastability: 8.5
Someone can think that 15 levels arenīt so much, but it is. There are four different difficulties, and there are more enemies in harder ones. Starting weapons are better in easier play modes. Levels are huge and has many different places. Teleports, lifts, doors, etc. You can save game at any time that you want, but one save needs over 200kb free space in memory, so I recommened memory card for saving. There is little password save feature too, but that isnīt so great thing.

Overal: 8.5
If you like shooting/action games, and not just those "spaceship shooting aliens" crapgames, then here is one very good killing game. So go to shop and buy, and donīt read this stupid rewiev...
