Defcon 5

Review by: Adam Parker

I disagree with Rogue Hunter's review of Defcon 5. Thus, my review of Defcon 5.

Defcon 5 is a much better game than that, Rouge Hunter or whoever you are who doesn't like this game. You seem to forget it's a first generation Saturn game. Pixelated graphics, oh no, it's the end of the world. Like so many games have pixelation and slow down, who cares, they still remain fun. That arguement is over and done with so lets not bother to start it again. Now the opening intro to Defcon 5 is incredible. I could care less for fmv opening intros unless they're anime style, like Guardian Heroes. However my mind changed with Defcon 5, Data East borrowed heavily from Blade Runner and that's fine with me, because I love Blade Runner. The beginning when the ship landed on the planet, then the end when the drop ship launced from the ship and it showed it drop all the way down, that is innovative...and you forgot to give it credit. The sound effects are decent, the lazer sounds fine, what are you comparing it to? Hopefully not Doom. The music is great, reminds me of the 3-d music in JP for SNES, which brings up yet another point I must make. If any1 played JP for SNES well the 3-d was cheesy beyond belief but it was SO FUN to play in regardless, due to the search and explore factor..and the fact that Ocean didn't even have to add the 3-d in the first place but did, and they did because they care about their gamers, like Data East does, by adding that incredible intro they didn't have to.
