Dragon Force
This game is addicting. Pick a ruler, almost any ruler. Then set out to unite a whole continent, it doesn't matter if those neighboring kingdoms are friend or foe. It's time to kick booty! It's no exactly an RPG, a bit more strategy is involved. Being a RPG fan and having no RPGs in my rather small library, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I have to note this, it is extremely rare for me to actually care about a character or characters. (One has to understand that I am a big Phantasy Star fan.) Maybe it's just me, but I'm one of those types that don't/won't stop playing until I get things done. For example, the Domestic Affairs screens will either hinder you or help you. Every time that DA is over, I want to immediately max out my troops. Can't exactly do that after giving awards now, can we? Mikhal was my favorite to use. I don't really care too much about the other rulers, mainly because their supporting generals don't excite me. My dream team that went around to conquer castles in the BEGINNING was Mikhal, Zagat, Shione, Katt, and Yuni. By the time when I could get the generals to a 100 men, I divided into two teams. Zagat, Katt, Yuni, (a monk; Livion, Stegalt, doesn't really matter) and Gigg. As for the heavy hitting team, Mikhal, Gongos, Leon, Junon and Reinhart. Wein and Teiris get whipped too easily. One thing I've come to really like about this game and I think every RPG-style game should incorporate are the anime cells, whether it's live action or freeze frame (in other words, Albert Odyssey should have done this...). This made the game so pleasurable and cool. The bad. Mikhal's dialogue is rather goofy, particularly when he's 1)convincing the captives to join him or 2) when a general is found wandering around the castles. Mispellings and incorrect grammar throw off the game just a tiny bit. That and when Mikhal meets Wein, their conversation makes no sense. Ratings:
