Dragon Force

Review by Ulysses Ang

Graphics 9.5/10

As a great long time anime (Japanese cartoon) fan, I find the artwork in Dragon Force to be great. With it's opening and ending credits in full anime-type FMV. Although this game doesn't look polygonal, the most striking feature of Dragon Force is the ability to control upto 100 soldiers at the same time. It's fun and neat!

Playability 9.5/10

Longing for a cool RPG? Then Dragon Force has it. I have never been a RPG fan before I played Dragon Force, because I always concentrated to buying aracade ports, actions and driving games. But now, due to the good game play of Dragon Force, I find myself liking RPGs too!

Sound 9.0/10

Okay, the sound is the typical RPG type of BGM. But, the recording is good and suits the emotion quite well. The battle cries is also a good part of the game, makes you feel the emotion!

Hardness 8.0/10

Once you get the hang of it, it's easy. I started the game with Junon, king of the Tristan Empire, and I was able to finish Dragon Force in about 5 days waking up at 7:00 am and ending at around 2:00 am.

Lastability 9.0/10

Although I have already finished Dragon Force with Junon, there is still some desire to try the game out again (unlike other RPGs such as Final Fantasy, where once you get to finish it, you'll never want to repeat the darn thing again).

Overall Rating 9.75/10

The almost-perfect game for the Sega Saturn. All my friends who bought a PSX, is now cursing their luck because with the help of Working Designs on Dragon Force, it's the game that kicks Mario's butt plus makes Final Fantasy seem normal. When will a game like this come out again?
