Dragon Force

Review by: David Gong

This game is a very addictive game for all audiences. It is almost the perfect combination of an RPG Final Fantasy type game with a gist of Warcraft and C&C. I guarantee that people who buy this game will be addicted.

You start this game with a choice of 6 of the 8 kingdoms. The Kingdoms that are excluded are Fandaria, the strongest kingdom and Tradnor, the kingdom most focused in magic. When you complete the game on one of the Kingdoms, those two kingdoms can now be chosen. I've beaten it in two days, each day starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. The Kingdom I used is the Tristan Empire because it is the second most powerful. I've also beaten it with the Topaz Kingdom in five starting at 3 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m.

You basically try to conquer castles and capture generals, hoping you can persuade them to join you cause. Some generals won't betray their monarchs until you have captured them. You have a choice of fighting with troops and using magic or retreating. Your generals gain experience for battles like a RPG and level up like a RPG.

Graphics

8.5/10

The anime is good but it needs to be worked on. When you use Dragons, they look fat. The map could be a 3-D map. Overall, the game's graphics are very nice.

Gameplay/Replay Value

10/10

You have 6 options at the beginning, then 7 other kingdoms to choose from after you beat it the first time. That's 8 different story lines to play. The game itself has a nice plot, good anime and excellent gameplay. Think of the Replay Value as 8 times the gameplay.

Sound

9.5/10

Only minor errors such as the occasional static on the game. The sounds are working perfectly, the videos sound great. The only problem is the repetition with the cheers and boos. Otherwise, it's great.

Innovation

10/10

The first ever Strategy/RPG I have seen on the Saturn comes with a bang! New ideas, different plots and battles with generals and soldiers all make this game a innovative idea.

Overall

9.5/10

If don't have this game, buy it!!! It's a must for any Saturn owner.
