Review by Jonathan Leung Big Hurt Baseball isn't in the league of World Series Baseball. Pretend that WSB and Big Hurt Baseball are two baseballs hoping to get to the catcher's glove. WSB gets to the glove while Big Hurt Baseball is thrown over the catcher's glove into the crowd. Big Hurt Baseball isn't that bad of a game. It's just that it isn't as good as WSB. The game has a MLBPA license so you get the real players. There is no MLB license which means that the team's logos aren't in the game. All the team's stadiums are in the game, but they aren't as detailed as some of the other baseball games on the shelves like PSX's Triple Play and Sega's upcoming WSB 2. After all, when's the last time you actually saw a Cracker Jack ad in the bleachers? Control is fair with the pitching and hitting. Each pitcher can throw three pitches like the fastball and curve. You have to use the D-pad to control where and how fast the ball goes. Hitting is kinda hard, but you get used to it. Fielding is decent and is done very easily. For sim fans, you can warm up the pitchers, sub in players, and everything. There are the usual baseball modes in the game like the Season and Exhibition modes. There is even a Batting Practice feature and the always fun Home Run Derby. In conclusion, wait until WSB 2 comes out or even buy the first WSB. Big Hurt Baseball isn't bad, but it isn't exactly great either. RATING= 6/10 |
