Fighting VipersReview by: Andrew Hernandez MY OPINION: I got this game a couple of days ago, I have been playing it with only a pause to eat and (barely) to sleep. If you thought sega couldn't possibly come out with a better fighter than VF2 you were terribly wrong. The game deserves a 9.8 of 10, here's how I brake it down. GRAPHICS: It uses Goraud shading effects that help a lot to the somewhat low resolution and making the characters look smoother and more realistic. It has some of the best light sourcing I've ever seen, for example, Picky's and Jane's stages have various lights that take turns to come on, or rotate around the characters making the shadows move in a very convincing way, also the characters have a lot of detail on the armor and on their faces. --9.9 CONTROL: This game controls really well. Unlike the slow paced Virtua Fighter games (admit it), Fighting Vipers is as fast as a 2D fighter only better, if you play the game in hyper mode, you get to walk around your opponents, kind of like in Toshinden! If you leave the controller settings to the default setting you get to use X, Y, and Z instead of having to go through the trouble of pressing a whole bunch of buttons at the same time, this helps if a move requires you to press A+B+C,or A+B, or A+C. --10 MUSIC/SOUND FX: The sounds are just great, almost everything about it, but the music, well if you like heavy metal combined with a touch of disco you'll like it, but if not, (like me) you probably won't, although it does have some good tracks. --7.7 REPLAY VALUE: If you like Virtua Fighter, Virtua Fighter Remix, Virtua Fighter 2 and I won't mention VF3 'cause I haven't played it yet, there is no reason why you shouldn't like Fighting Vipers, unless you don't care much about fighting games of course. With so many modes of play, such awesome features such as using the walls in so many ways like breaking it against an opponent, throwing or hanging him/her on top, you can also break your opponents armor off, or break your own! This is a highly addictive game and worth every penny of it's price tag. I recommend it. --10
