Fighting VipersReview by: Jonathan Leung The so-called fighting experts kinda gave Fighting Vipers a cold shoulder because of its unique and strange characters and that it probably wouldn't be as good as Virtua Fighter 2. Now, the people that doubted Fighting Vipers are now praising it because it is a pretty darn good game. In fact, some people say that the game is even better than VF2. I personally think that Fighting Vipers is a little better than VF2 because of the moves depth and the extras in the game. Fighting Vipers is very different than VF2. Instead of ring-outs, there are steel cages and walls to keep the action inside. Each fighter doesn't have any fireballs or anything out of the blue like in Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Just plain kicking, stomping, punching, and wrestling action. There are about 8 characters, including a rollerblader named Grace and a guitar player named Raxel. The main boss is B.M., who packs a mighty punch. Fighters have armor to protect themselves, but it can be knocked off with certain moves. There are also many levels of difficulty. The graphics are very good, mainly the backgrounds. The control is pretty good and the moves are pretty easy to do. The sound is above average. Everything about the game is good. Overall, the game won the Ultra GP Fighting Game of the Year Award, beating out PSX's Tekken 2 and Tobal #1. Arguably, this game is the best fighting game on the Saturn, period. RATING: 9.4/10
