Review by Andrew Hernandez
Guardian Heroes comes very close to being the best game I own. The character designs are imaginative, the music fits perfectly, it makes good use of the Saturn's superior sound, and it has great graphics.
REPLAY VALUE:
Lately I find myself playing the Versus mode in this game more than I play Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3! You have to keep playing the story mode on hard to get new characters, and they add up to 45. You can even pick up to six different characters at once, program them all to be controlled by the CPU, and just sit back and watch them beat the hell out of each other! Story mode is very fun as well, it has three planes to fight on, (it's used to escape attacks, and to spread out when there's too many characters in the same plane, which can be very confusing) you also get to fight a whole lot of characters at once, and you can choose what path to take. --9.0
GRAPHICS:
The sprites are very animated, and have a lot of detail, but they lack resolution. The backgrounds are Beautiful and very nicely colored. --7.5
CONTROL:
It controls just fine, like any other side scrolling game, some of the moves are slow, but that can be fixed when you costomise the characters (something I forgot to mention). When you're stuck in the air with a 200 hit because the opponent is throwing off so many magic moves at you, there's not much control. --8.5
MUSIC/ SOUND FX:
The sound effects are great, while the music is O.K., what can I say, it's not a ping-ping soundtrack. --6.0
OVERALL:
This is almost 2 games in one, and it will give you a lot of fun, for several months. You should undoubtedly get it.
