Ghen War

Review by: Rob Peets

Right. So a couple like it, one's indifferent, one hates it. If you have a Saturn, you've heard about this game. You have probably based your buying/passing decisions on what you have heard. Also, if you have a Saturn , you are probably serious about your gameplay and will probably have a backup RAM cart of some sort by now.

This is whatI have to add: If you've got backup memory, and you can get a copy of this game for a reasonable price (and it shouldn't be too hard -- I got mine for $9, though idiot K-mart is still trying to sell it for $59.96), then get this damn game. You can do no wrong, if you've got backup memory. Personally, I think it's impossible to finish otherwise; for once you die once, you lose all the cool weapons you've collected throughout the whole game. But -- with backup memory, it becomes fair, and is one of the few worthwhile 1st-person shooters you can get on the Saturn.

The only valid complaint anyone could possibly have with this game is that it becomes too hard after about level 4. So do this: each time you successfully complete a level, quit; then save your internal memory's Ghen War file to your cart memory. Next time, if you die, just quit and load your Cart memory. That way, you get a 2nd try without losing a life and all your weapons.

Trust me. If you can get this for even $30.00 or less, and I know you can, and you like 1st-person shooters, and you have backup memory, you can do no wrong.
