Groove-On Fight

Review by: Ulysses Ang

Graphics 7.0/10

It's a little bit rough compared to Street Fighter or Night Warriors, but it's okay. The characters are spectacularly weird in every way: looks…special moves…everything! It's what makes this game interesting.

Playability 8.5/10

Controls are okay and fast. The controls are somewhat like Street Fighter. However sometimes the moves take a long time to do because the character does all these weird poses before doing a single move. This enables the CPU to target you easily while you're doing a special move.

Sound 8.0/10

The voices are cute and excellently recorded. The BGM recordings are in acceptable levels. Music here are generally more in rock and rap (complete with vocals).

Hardness 8.0/10

Wow…at first you'd think this game as a cinch. Later on, the characters would do 25 hit combos at you. And then, at some point, you'll have to fight one on two…geez, it makes the game even harder.

Lastability 7.0/10

Best played with pals up to 4. The graphics are cute and probably a plus in this game.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Bottom Line: Good and solid game from Atlus. Animation might be a little rough, the the response isn't and that's a real plus (unlike Fatal Fury 3, where everything sucks). Now Atlus, if we could just have some more RPGs…
