Last Bronx
The story of Last Bronx is there are eight gang leaders and they must attend the Last Bronx. The victor of the tournament will get the mantle of the Last Bronx. I don't know what this has to do with the Bronx,it takes place in Tokyo. There are eight modes. The first mode is Arcade which plays the arcade. The second, third, and fourth are versus, time attack, and survival. The best mode in Last Bronx is the SATURN MODE. In this mode the emphasis is story. All eight fighters have a specific character they fight at the end. Before they fight they engage in conversation and duke it out; providing you win you are treated to a 30 second anime ending. The last modes are movies, portraits, and options. In movies you get to see all the endings you got and the intro. In portraits you get pictures of the eight fighters, but YOU have to attain them. Graphics: The graphics are the same hi-res graphics as VF2. The graphics are amazing. Even though the backgrounds appear 3-D they are actually 2-D. AM3 accomplished this through 2-D layered bitmaps. The only problem with the graphics is the pop up. This occurs when you get to close to the fence, at the end when you get your character to do a different winning pose, and the last place pop-up can occur is when your character is doing one of their throws. Other than that the graphics are almost even better even better than AM2's Virtua Fighter 2. First 3-D in a loooong time not to have an instant replay. Sound: There are basic grunts and thuds. The music is basically rock. All the language in Last Bronx is all Japanese, but they have subtitles in the endings and the intro. They have this really odd voice saying Last Bronx. Also each fighter has a taunt. All the taunts are in Japanese, but you can usually tell what they're saying by the gesture they make. Some actually swear at you with a gesture[Yoko]. Gameplay: The gameplay is brutal. From Kurosawa's slaps to Nagi's axe kick. The game adds something new to the fighting game scene. The roll and the G-Cancel. The roll is just pressing the left shift button. It's okay. If you roll a player can see you coming a mile away and just foot sweep you and do a pouncing or ground attack. The G-Cancel lets you stop a move or a combo in mid motion. This lets you create a infinite amount of combos, but most of the its button mashing fighting. Replay: This game has tons of it. Now you'll have a reason to play saturn to obtain all the endings and it's better than VF2's CONGRATGALATIONS!. You'll also want to obtain all the joke weapons[listed below with all characters names, gang, and weapon]. Lastly you'll want to obtain all the portraits[REALLY HARD]. Definetely buy this game if you're a fighting fan or until you want to yourself over until Dead or Alive. NOW THIS IS A RUMBLE IN THE BRONX, OK WELL SORTA OF.
