Machine Head

Review by: Loreto Tuquero Jr

Go get this game now! It is totally awesome and I have no idea why it was never hyped even though it was released way before Turok and believe me when I say the virtual world is one of the best ever seen I'd say it works better than Powerslaves' for it's theme, set in a dark, doomed world. The enemies are made of true polygons and looks terrific, fast and fluid with no slow down whatsoever, I tell you the guys at core have done wonders,by using the Saturn's strengths, it's like they used the Tombraider engine but enhanced it for and action packed game. When you get to the later stages your mind is going to be blown away by guys flying around in space suits trying to kill you and when you fire of your nuclear weapons they explode and die with such realism that their screams sound eerily human. Yup, that's right, I said nuclear weapons, well at least that's what it looks to me! I definitely think this game had a major influence on Turok for the N64 cause I don't know any other game that was released over, estimated guess 2 years ago, that had such special effects.

If the magazines had hyped this game up, I think the Saturn would be right up there as the system of choice for everyone. There isn't too much I can say about this game but that it didn't get the attention it deserved. In my opinion this is how games should be cause everything works as it should, it's like an adventure, action, movie. Core should be commended BIG TIME for this title and it would be a shame if they never made another game like this because I think it didn't sell very well. I got mine for $15.00 at my local Toys R Us and it's the best investment that I made, pick yourself up a copy before it goes out of stock and after playing it go to all the web sites and write in a review educating people of why this game is so great and why it was never hyped because of Bias people, I'm not going to mention names but all I just wanted to say is Machine Head Rocks!
