Review by James Cariello Graphics: 9.5/10 Madden looks great. All 30 stadiums look great and are tremendously detailed. The players look great in every view. Madden, Summerall, & Madden look awesome. I haven't seen motion in QB club, but I'm very impressed with the graphics in Madden 97. Sound 10/10 The sound is incredible. While Summerall's announcing isn't exactly play-by-play, he sounds great as does Madden. The crowd gets into the games with the chants of "DE-FENSE, DE-FENCE" It sounds like you're at the game. Playability 8.5/10 If you've played Madden before, the game will be easy to play. If you haven't, it might take a while to get used to. The game uses every button on the controller, even the L & R buttons. Until you get familiar with the game, Passing will by hard. But, once you get used to it, you'll realize that some plays will work every time, so you can throw for 575 yards like my friend did. The computer can be cheap at times, especially late in the half and the game. Replay Value: 9/10 While the game (like every sports game) is more fun with two players, the game is still fun against the computer. You can play a season (As long as you have 507 free blocks) or the new tournament mode. Overall: 9.5/10 This is by far the best football game available for the Saturn. I know that's not saying much, but the game is good. It's worth the money, and it was definitely worth the wait. |
