FIGHTERS MEGAMiX Review by: Mike 'VG-Master' Not so MEGA if you ask me... Grafx: 7.0 Lower Resolution is unacceptable. Especially when I bought it to bring back some life into Virtua Fighter. But instead, it is neither a step up nor down. However, the fantastic light sourcing is very interesting to watch (for example; the desert stage with the huge horizon casting very cool shading) and it is the light sourcing that makes gets the grafx score above a 5.0 Sound: 5.0 Awful sounds plague this game. The regular punch and kick sounds do not vary at all like they did in Virtua Fighter 1 and 2. The music is boring and there aren't a whole lot of sound fx at all. Bahn doesn't say too many things, but he sure sounds dumb after you execute his '-> P' move a few times. Ending: 7.5 This should be a category in all reviews. For it proves that the reviewer has even finished the game and it also reflects replay value. I mean, if the original 8-bit Contra had a retarded, "Congrats, the End," it wouldn't inspire me to beat it again and again for the ending is what gives a game a reason to do it all over again. MEGAMIX has a decent ending, at least compared to some of the crap endings that are on many of the 32-bit games. Control: 9.0 I press punch, my guy punches. Pretty tight, no complaints here. Some moves are difficult to pull off, even some stupid ones, which are annoyingly displayed in the training mode such as 15 ways to jump and kick. FunFactor: 6.5 Not bad. Could use some better balance among the characters. The game gets old after a little while. Even though it has 32 characters, I'd like my money back on 16 of them.
Overall Score: 6.45
