Want to Submit a Review?

So you want to submit a reader review, huh? Great! There are a few steps you must take (and a few things to know) before you send in your review. This will ensure your review will make it online.

  1. The first thing you should know right off the bat is that all reviews must be in 80-column ASCII text format. What's ASCII text? That means there should be no boldface or italics in your review. In other words, save it as a .TXT file. Also, please turn word wrap off and manually press enter at the end of each line. Also, please turn word wrap off and manually press enter at the end of each line. You can either attach your review or include it in the body of the e-mail message. And for bonus brownies points, you can even code it to our HTML specifications.

  2. You may use any review system you like. You can use ours, you can use another magazine's, or you can even make up your own. You don't have to rate individual categories if you don't want to, but the minimum requirement is that you at least give an overall score.

  3. Try to make your review look as professional as possible. Make sure you spell check and read over your reviews. Constructive criticism is fantastic, but we don't need lines like "Sonic rules! Crash and Mario SUCK!" It's not needed and any review with suspect lines like above will be deleted without warning.

  4. All reviews should be fairly long and fairly well-written. Reviews that are just one big paragraph or that are just numbers with hardly any text will be deleted. We don't have the space to put up lackluster reviews, so make sure you got some content in there.

  5. Please make sure you include your name in the actual body of the review itself. Your real name is not absolutely required, but we much rather have your name to give you proper credit for your work! We don't include URLs or advertisements in the reviews, but we will put your e-mail address in there if you want us to. Just make sure you put your e-mail address in the body of the actual review itself because we won't.

  6. You can now E-Mail us your review with Review: (INSERT NAME OF GAME HERE) as the subject line.

For the most part, we will accept roughly 90% of the reviews that we receive. If we don't accept your review, then you won't get any mail saying so. You just won't see it online when the next batch goes up. If you review meets the above criteria, then you should see it when the next batch of reviews go online. Be forewarned: It can take anywhere from one day to three weeks for your review to get posted. They will be up within in a week most of the time.
