Star Fighter 3000

Review by: Shion

Graphics: WOW! The best yet on the Saturn as far as I'm concerned! Beautiful landscapes, from the waste-lands of mars, to the cities of earth, all in their 3D rendered glory! Very little pop-up is noticeable as you explore the huge 3D worlds, scooting along at 40 fps! In my opinion, this games graphics match those of Star Fox 64!

Music: Well, I have to admit, the musics not the best, but who cares? If the games fun, I usually cut the music anyway.

Sound Effects: Flawless! As you scoot along in your fighter, the sound makes it seem all the more real! From the roar of the engine, to the explosions of enemy fighters, the sound just helps draw you into the game even more!

Interaction: In certain missions, you're allowed to lead your comrades into battle, the fate of your buddies depends on you, how much more interaction can you get?

Balance: As you progress in the game, you learn more and more about the control, you also earn new and more highly advanced weaponry, such as multi-misiles, beam lasers, ATG missiles, and ATA missiles!

Depth: There are 45 missions in Star Fighter, each one guaranteed to test your pilot skills to the max! You start with the training missions, then you work your way up to the advanced ones!

Extras: As with the music, there's not much, but once again, who cares? A game this good needs no extras in my opinion.

Presentation: I was already drawn into this game by the time I finished reading the instruction booklet! And if that is not enough for ya', then there's a nice little intro that's sure to get your attention! Even before every mission, there's a little FMV sequence that gets you ready!

Innovation: Sure, this has been done before, but its just never been executed quite so well.

Overall Rating: 9.6
