Full Weapons
Here's a cheat that's so old, it may as well be new. The classic NES cheat, where you pause the game and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, and A still gives you full weaponry. This works on both Gradius 1 and 2. The only drawback is that you're limited to doing this once per round.
